For more than 20 years, I've had the privilege of photographing families, seniors, newborns, engagements and weddings throughout West Tennessee and beyond.
But photography has never been just about taking a picture for me.
My background in photography, graphic design, advertising and professional retouching has shaped the way I approach every image—from the way I see light and composition to the way a finished photograph comes together.
The result is photography created to be beautiful now, meaningful years from now, and worthy of becoming part of your family's history.

More Than a Photographer

I'm Michelle, the photographer and owner behind White Design & Photography.
My love of photography began with a love of art. I studied graphic design and photography, with a minor in marketing and business, before beginning my career at a national advertising agency.
That experience taught me something I still use every day:
A beautiful photograph isn't accidental.
Light, composition, expression, color, perspective and thoughtful editing all work together to create an image that feels right.
In 2003, I combined my background in design and photography and founded White Design & Photography.
More than two decades later, I still love what I do—and one of my favorite parts of this business is watching families grow.

THE WHITE DESIGN EXPERIENCE
It begins before the camera comes out.
Every session begins with a conversation. We'll talk about what you're envisioning, what you want your photographs to feel like, clothing, location and anything else that will help us create images that feel like you.
Then we create.
You don't have to know how to pose.
That's my job.
I'll guide you through the session while leaving room for the genuine expressions, interactions and little moments that make your photographs personal.
And then we finish the artwork.
Your images are individually edited and carefully prepared before you see them.
After your session, we'll meet for a personalized viewing and ordering appointment where you'll see your photographs together and decide how you'd like to preserve them.
Your session doesn't end when I take the last photograph.
